Our History

The world has changed enormously since The Liberty Group Company first opened for business in 1920 as Liberty Transportation & Storage Company. We’ve adapted and grown with the changing times to offer Moving Services, Building Maintenance Services and Paper Shredding.

What hasn’t changed at all is our passion to serve.

Our founder moved from Italy near the turn of the century. Following a personal injury, he chose to invest in a new business, transporting and delivering ice! This was a big need in the early 1900s. Thanks to his route of going back and forth routinely between New Jersey and New York, he wisely took on another use for his vehicle. Local residents would request large furniture be taken along. As time passed, it became clear this was an even greater opportunity due to the need, powered vehicles and trucks were produced, the first true Liberty Group Moving came to be!
